SAC-YOLO MOSQUITO AND VECTOR CONTROL DISTRIBUTES MOSQUITO REPELLENT TO A LOCAL HOMELESS SHELTER AS PART OF MOSQUITO AWARENESS WEEK

WHO: The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District

WHAT: Repellent Distribution to the homeless

WHERE: Loaves and Fishes, 1321 North C. St. Sacramento

WHEN: Thursday, April 29, 2010, 10-11 AM

WHY: Homeless residents are at a higher risk of being bitten by mosquitoes and exposed to West Nile virus. As part of our community involvement and education program, the District is reaching out to this segment of the population to provide free mosquito repellent packets and information on how they can protect themselves.

The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District provides year round mosquito and vector control services. The main goal for the District is to keep the public healthy by preventing the transmission of diseases and improving the quality of life for residents.
