Aerial Treatment for August 6th and 7th 2014

WHAT: Aerial spraying to control mosquitoes infected with West Nile Virus over portions of Yolo County including Davis and Woodland on two consecutive nights, Wednesday August 6th and Thursday August 7th from approximately 8:00pm to midnight.

Aerial spraying on Wednesday August 6th in Davis began at 9:00pm and ended at 10:31pm, and began in Woodland at 8:50pm and ended at 9:39pm. Aerial spraying on Thursday August 7th in Davis began at 8:44pm and ended at 10:09pm, and began in Woodland at 8:45pm and ended at 9:30pm.

WHY: To quickly reduce the number of adult mosquitoes infected with West Nile Virus which can become a threat to public health. This treatment was a direct response to elevated West Nile Virus Activity and in accordance with the District's Mosquito and Mosquito-borne Disease Management Plan .
