Aerial Treatment for July 23rd and 24th 2018

WHAT: Aerial spraying to control mosquitoes infected with West Nile Virus in Sacramento and Elk Grove on two consecutive nights, Monday July 23rd from 8:45pm-9:38pm and Tuesday July 24th from 8:44pm-9:34pm. See below for an interactive map of the spray area.

 
Residents can sign up for urban aerial spraying updates by texting “sprayupdate” to 69922. Messages will only be sent to subscribers when aerial spraying is scheduled, the first scheduled day, and a live notification when spraying begins and ends each day.

WHY: To quickly reduce the number of adult mosquitoes infected with West Nile Virus which can become a threat to public health. This treatment was a direct response to elevated West Nile Virus Activity and in accordance with the District’s Mosquito and Mosquito-borne Disease Management Plan .

NOTE: TREATMENT MAY BE CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS OR OTHER ISSUES.
