PHOTO OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW PLANE USED FOR AERIAL SPRAYING

 
WHO:        The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District in partnership with Vector Disease Control International (VDCI)
 
WHAT:     Unique opportunity to interact with District and VDCI personnel to view the airplane that will be utilized to conduct aerial treatments to control mosquitoes and reduce the threat of West Nile virus
 
WHEN:     Sunday, August 6th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
 
WHERE:  McClellan Airport

WHY:         District staff will be available to answer questions relating to the rise in West Nile virus activity that prompted the aerial spraying in the cities of Woodland and Davis. VDCI personnel will be able to show the airplane and discuss how the equipment works.

Practice the District D’s of Mosquito Prevention: 

DRAIN standing water that may produce mosquitoes. 
DAWN and DUSK are times to avoid being outdoors.   
DRESS appropriately be wearing long sleeves and pants when outside. 
DEFEND yourself by using an effective insect repellent.  Make sure to follow label directions! 
DOOR and window screens should be in good working condition.
